Discovering Leipzig: A Musical Journey in Germany

A short 90-minute bus ride from Dresden is Liepzig. It is slightly more populated than Dresden, but less touristy.

I don’t really look too much into where I’m going until I’m there, so I was surprised at how music, classical music, centered this city is.

I’m sure that all my music teacher friends and singers would adore this place. Some pretty well-known guys have rocked out the music scene here. You know Bach, Schumann, and Mendelssohn, to name a few.

Bach is even buried here at the church where he led the choir.

I was a bit of a slacker tourist today and didn’t follow my walk route and instead wandered around and discovered some interesting buildings.

This is a museum. Old Town Hall.
I know it is a museum because it says so, but I’m not sure which one.
This is the building beside the museum, lol. Alte Handelsborse, the old stock exchange, 1678.
Market Square
? seriously is this a palm tree statue?
St. Nicholas Church, Nikolaikirche, wanted 2 Euros to take pictures. I’m a jerk and took one anyway.
St. Nicolas Church
Riquet House, beginning of the 20th century.
A mix of Art Nouveau and oriental styles.

Then I hit a couple of stores to buy some more cheap underwear since the last set I got was a little too large. TMI?
