Side trip to Lisbon and the farthest west European spot

Part of the Sunnyside Up route I was on takes travelers into Portugal to visit the most westerly spot in Europe,  Cabo da Roca (Cape Roca), and  an afternoon in Lisbon.

What this means is about 6 hours of travel in a bus for an afternoon in Portugal . Was it worth it? Probably not, I don’t feel like I really visited Portugal as the time was so short, and I’d be spending even more  time getting to Madrid the next day. I think Portugal deserves its own trip, and extra time at any of the other stops in Spain would have been better.

Cabo da Roca (Cape Roca)

Lisbon’s center is very different from the Spanush ones I visited.  There were still many squares and fountains, but the vibe was completely different.

The buildings seemed more colorful, and pastry shops with drool worthy goodies were everywhere.

Yummy goodness
Best ever. So creamy with a crisp shell and still warm.

I could have spent way more time eating and exploring here.
