Some decisions have been made and too much money was spent on Black Friday weekend on a trip to Argentina.
May I ask why singles need to pay so much more than one-half of a duo? I understand that a hotel room is usually the same price no matter if there is one or two, but what about the rest? I don’t eat twice as much alone or take two seats in the transport so that stuff should be cheaper.
Some places have single supplements where I can save 10-25 % off what a couple would pay, but for several of the tours, it is paying for two!
First up, I booked a cruise on Norwegian Star. To make it cheaper I’m letting the cruise line choose my interior cabin. I don’t care where I’m sleeping. Now it’s a big boat so that means I’ll be sailing by Antarctica not visiting it.

Smaller ships can get in closer and land in Antarctica. There is also Kayaking, hiking, or polar plunges from these smaller vessels. The big ones don’t have ports available for their size. The prices for the smaller boats are usually around US $10,000. So while they look amazing, they are expensive and more than I wanted to spend on that part of my trip.

This is different from the original cruise I was looking at, which my friend Costa pointed out, the route looked suspiciously like a part of male anatomy.

It is a 16-day Cruise that hits Argentina, Uraguay, and Chile.

For the second part, I failed to read the fine print.
After perusing many tours and packages for Argentina I would forget which ones included what and ended up booking a slightly more expensive trip (no single discount) for a highly rated 4.8 stars Exploring Full Patagonia Argentina & Chile on Tour Radar. It is offered by Qwerty Travel Argentina and spans 15 days.
I made some assumptions- my bad- that the higher price included the 3 domestic flights I would need to take. Spoiler alert- it doesn’t.
This was a not-so-welcome surprise this morning, although good thing it came up today and not when I was already down there and flights might not be available.

Itinerary

With the Active Adventure tour Exploring Full Patagonia Argentina & Chile, you have a 15-day tour package taking you through Buenos Aires, Argentina, and 8 other destinations in Latin America. Between the new short cruise, land portion, and international and domestic flights, I need my cruise refund to come through on time I might be in a bit of trouble when my credit card bill comes due next month. And let’s not forget Christmas.
